Happy parents - the best present Savremena International School could ever get
A mother of one of Savremena’s students sent us her New Year’s wishes in a unique way. It is emails like this sent by happy and content parents that are the best New Year’s present Savremena International School can get.
Dear Savremena International School,
We wish you all the best in 2016.
We hope that you will enjoy watching your students learn new things, but also watching them not study, as this is the time when they truly get to learn about themselves and their place in this world, their friends, love etc. For this, there is no teacher, other than the supreme kind, which is life itself. That’s why I think that no studying is just as important as the other subjects students get to explore.
All jokes aside, we truly wish you and Savremena International School many wonderful things in the new year, above all good, hard-working, healthy and happy students and teachers and we hope that all your plans and aspirations come true in 2016.
Thank you for a great New Year’s present, it was quite fun unwrapping it or should I say reading it and the New Year’s performance was, as kids would say, awesome!
In addition to the card I've provided in the attachment, I would also like to share with you a special little anecdote:
Namely, when I went to the Children’s Cultural Centre, as I was walking into the hall I heard someone behind me:
„It’s her..., no it’s not..., it is..., it’s her.., no way..., it is, I tell you..., hey Duda, Duda!“
I turn around only to find some of my close friends whom I hadn't seen in a long time in the crowd of excited parents.
„Hey, hi! Mwuah, mwuah, mwuah”.
And then the usual “Your kid goes to Savremena? Our’s too. Yes, Nikola...yes.”, followed by a sigh of relief and assurance…
„Really?! How lovely, since Nikola goes there too…, great, to think we were not sure about the school at first”.
„Yes, neither were we. We thought, you know, it’s a private school and there’s all kinds of private schools…”.
„Our Pavle also goes here… That’s great to hear”.
And so we took our seats before the performance, equally happy and content as each other. So, Pavle goes to Savremena as well… how nice, great kids…, great parents.
That would be our present to Savremena: the positive energy generated by the notion that “at Savremena, students are truly great”.
I think that, in the beginning, all of us, including teachers and parents were not sure what it would all be like. Well...I can safely say that it could not have turned out better!
Happy New Year
Duda (Desa Đorđević Milutinović)
Along with her new year’s wishes, this happy mother of one of our students also took the opportunity to share her views on Savremena and highlight some interesting facts that may be of use to other parents.
Savremena International School is great and I would recommend it to everyone!
Savremena International School is great! I would highly recommend it because it is centred around a great concept, it includes various activities and helps students develop their personalities, find themselves and pursue their interests. My son is currently attending Year 10 at Savremena International School and I think that at his age, children are not yet fully aware of all the advantages they get to enjoy.
I am sure that in the coming few years, the true values of students will come to light and that they will make use of all of the benefits and opportunities the school offers them. My daughter, however, is currently a Year 13 student at a different secondary school and she is more than aware of all the advantages Savremena provides for its students. That’s why she wishes that she too had the chance to enrol into Savremena and experience all the benefits first hand.
It is great that Savremena has a well thought out programme that enables students to rely on themselves, their resourcefulness and their talents as well as their teachers and mentors. I am confident that in Years 12 and 13 Savremena will become an essential part of the students’ lives, one they will not wish to part with. I wish Savremena International School all the best, and above all many brilliant, kind, hard-working and happy students and teachers. May all your dreams and goals come true in the period to come, which I am sure they will since it has all been coming together perfectly thus far.
