New educational software at Savremena: IXL and Turnitin

In order to provide its students with a better and more comprehensive education, International School Savremena offers its students two digital tools designed to help them improve their learning outcomes – IXL and Turnitin.

IXL for better maths and English skills

IXL (pronounced: I excel) is a practice website that offers all the digital sources for mathematics and the English language that you need. It allows teachers and students to create and share customised study materials that can be easily accessed via Android and iOS and through its web-based interface.

IXL provides more than 7000 maths and English practice questions which are often used in conjunction with classroom learning and assignments. IXL helps students enjoy the process of learning. It bridges the gap between the traditional school curriculum and hands-on knowledge.

Mastering academic writing with Turnitin

Turnitin is a plagiarism checker used to inspect papers and documents in order to find out whether the student has plagiarised the content from an unquoted source or used another student’s paper. It can also be used in order to help students learn how to avoid plagiarism and improve their writing or how to cite sources and references correctly.

Over and above everything else, Turnitin is not only beneficial to the teachers but also to the students, as it provides them with positive habits and knowledge.

This approach allows Savremena to further enhance learning at the school by fully facilitating skill acquisition and helping the students master academic writing.

Contemporary in any sense of the word, our school offers functional knowledge and quality preparation for tertiary education in Serbia and abroad. Implementing modern and creative teaching in the classroom, where the teachers’ pedagogy and students’ performance are aligned with the highest academic standards for the high-school finals, our school develops linguistic, mathematical, scientific, artistic, cultural, technical and ICT competence, which is a prerequisite for further education and professional development. Teaching is supported by the interactive whiteboards and educational software, whereas practice exercises research and critical thinking.
